Wilhelmina “Minnie” TenKley, age 98, of Lynden, went to Heaven on Thursday morning, Nov. 5, 2015, at the Christian Health Care Center. She was born May 20, 1917, in Chandler, Minnesota, to parents Henry and Maria Veenhof. Minnie married Dick TenKley on Feb. 24, 1939. They were married for 69 years until his death in 2008.
Minnie was preceded in death by sons-in-law Lloyd DeVries and Jerry Matter; granddaughters Lori Silves and Julie Kellogg; and great-grandsons Michael Busby and Judah TenKley.
Minnie is survived by her children, MaryAnn DeVries, Judy Howell, Ellen Matter, Gerald (Divina) TenKley, Bonnie (Larry) Miller, Linda (Jack) Wiebusch and Donald (Joan) TenKley. She had 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings, Harris Salie, Leona Kreun and Nick Veenhof.
Mom loved sewing and taking care of her garden. She was a Sunday school secretary for as long as we could remember.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in Christ Fellowship, 1208 E. Main St., Everson, WA 98247.
In Minnie’s honor, the family suggests memorial donations be given to the Christian Health Care Center, 855 Aaron Dr., Lynden, WA 98264.
