Vylit Lu VanderGiessen, of Lynden, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the tender age of 13. She was born May 26, 2003 in Bellingham and attended Whatcom County schools.
Vylit’s fun-loving personality touched all who knew her. She exemplified a selfless heart as she delighted in caring for her little brothers; making care packages for the homeless; and always offering helping hands for whatever was needed. Singing, dancing and love for music filled her life with much joy. She loved science and always delighted in her “experiments” … especially making “ooblick.” Vylit was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Vylit is survived by her parents, Travis (Sarah) VanderGiessen and Danyelle Cadiente; stepdad, Art Downs; brothers Devin, Hunter, Ryder and Noah; grandparents, Barb and Richard Cadiente, Gary (Linda) VanderGiessen, Beverly VanderGiessen and Brian (Nancy) Aronson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in North County Christ the King Church of Lynden.
