Virginia Mae Seeman was born on Oct. 19, 1939, to Cleo and Mary Sornberger in Sumas and passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on April 28, 2013.
Virginia was married to her best friend and love of her life, Dr. Dean Seeman, who recently passed away on May 30, 2015. She is survived by daughters Jodi Knudson, Cindy Spires and Wendy Johnson; six grandchildren; and her sister, Sue TenKley.
Virginia received her nursing degree from Western Washington University where she was active in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Her passion of caring for patients lead her to Tucson, Arizona, where she was in the first graduating class of Adult Nurse Practitioners in 1982. She worked with her husband, Dr. Dean Seeman, at their private practice in Apache Junction and East Mesa for 40 years. Virginia was known as a caring and compassionate person. Once her patient, you were always her patient.
Virginia was also active in many local civic organizations, including the Apache Junction Fire Department Board for many years and was the first elected mayor of the City of Apache Junction in 1980.
Virginia was a phenomenal seamstress, making matching dresses and suits on holidays for each of her grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to entertain friends and all were welcome at her home anytime. The gatherings at Virginia’s place were filled with family, fun, cheer, great food and laughter. She had a gift for everyone, always. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Please join us in celebrating both Virginia and Dean Seeman’s lives on Sunday Aug. 30, 2015, at the Glen Echo Community Club, 7694 Goodwin Rd., Everson, WA. Services begin at 2 p.m.
