Virgil was an active member of Rotary and served as president. He was also involved in many churches serving in leadership.

Virgil was active in ministry with Campus Crusades and as a youth leader at New Life Fellowship. In retirement, Virgil loved having the grandkids and their friends over making hay, raising beef, and chopping wood (firewood for sale).
