Verna Jane Voth, 85, passed away in Bellingham on June 25, 2016. She was born to William and Margaret Banman on March 19, 1931, in Goessel, Kansas. On April 6, 1950, she married the love of her life, Milo, with whom she was able to celebrate 66 years of marriage.
Verna worked side by side with Milo whether it was in their garden, poultry/beef business or their hardware stores, all the while raising five sons, of whom she said “I always wanted five sons.” Later in life she and Milo volunteered with The Sowers, a group that provided volunteer labor for churches and Christian organizations involved in building projects.
Verna leaves behind her husband, Milo; five sons: Myron (Sharon), Brad (Barb), Stan (Renae), Ken (Heidi) and Nolan (Starla); 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rich and Marvin; and a son, Douglas.
Verna had a sweet spirit and loved serving others.
A memorial service will be held in Grace Baptist Church of Lynden on Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m.
