Tyson William John Scheffer, age 26, went home to be with his heavenly Savior on May 20, 2023. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend and will be deeply missed.
Tyson was born on Oct. 10, 1996 in Bellingham, WA. He was the third child to Bill and Laurie Scheffer. Tyson at a young age had a love for farming. At age 10 he was growing his own garden and collecting Owl Pellets in the local barns to make money. He moved on to raising goats and pigs and was heavily involved in the local FFA and 4H. At 14, he purchased his first pickup truck and fixed it to sell. Five trucks later, he was driving one of the nicest trucks in town. Tyson was easy going, loved the farm and his dog Aspen.
Tyson attended Nooksack Valley High School. His love of farming and trucks led him to work locally with many different companies and farms. He had a strong work ethic like his parents. At the time of his passing, he had the job of his dreams and plans to build a house next to his parents.
Tyson dearly loved his family and friends. He was the fun uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Tyson will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit.
Tyson was met at Heaven’s gates by grandparents Diane Vander Veen and Dennis Scheffer.
Tyson is survived by his parents, Bill and Laurie, sister Shantel (Anthony) Berwald and their children Sayler and Holland, sister Sierra (Tanner) Tjoelker and their children Kasen, Axton, Bria, and Claira, brother Kade Scheffer, Grandparents John (Cheri) Vander Veen, Dixie Scheffer, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private family graveside service at Hopewell Cemetery was held Monday, May 29 as was a memorial service at the Vander Veen cabin.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
