Trudy Peters Zwink, age 94, of Lynden, passed away in Lynden on May 15, 2015. Trudy was born on May 19, 1920, in Bellingham to Carl and Marie (Waschke) Kunzman.
A lifelong resident of Whatcom County, she was the oldest baptized member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Trudy was an avid reader and loved writing poetry. She worked in her younger years at the Leopold Hotel and retired from J.C. Penney.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; husband John W. Peters (1991); husband Wayne Zwink (2012); and grandson Mark Peters (2014).
She is survived by daughters Vonnie (Dan) Fitzgerald and Barbara (Dick) Sullivan; son Larry (Judi) Peters; step-daughter Shari Seward; five grandchildren: Tracey Westbury, Kathy Spinelli, Kristine Tjoelker, Kelley DeZeeuw and Tim Sullivan; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
