Theresa Joy Abercrombie, age 56, passed away at home on Saturday, July 8, 2017 after a courageous 24-year journey with cancer.
Theresa was born April 19, 1961 in Bellingham to George and Mary (Hickey) Eiene. She had two brothers and two sisters. Theresa attended Nooksack Valley schools.
At the age of 16, Theresa married Gary Abercrombie on Nov. 21, 1977. Together they had three children: Jake, Kate and Heidi. Theresa was a wholesale purchaser for the Dental Parts Warehouse. She was a member of the Puget Sound Antique Tractor & Machinery Association and enjoyed competitive pulling. Theresa was known for her sewing, gardening and upholstery work and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Theresa had a bucket list, with visiting Mexico at the top. She was strong, loving, caring and selfless and never complained about how much pain she was in.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary; son Jake (Jackie) Abercrombie and children Taryn, Denten and Aidan; daughter Kate (Jordan) Nelson and children Ethan, Kimber, Geneva and Haile; and stepdaughter Heidi (Jim) Larch and children Joe, Erica and Mike Jr. She will be missed by her parents, George and Mary Eiene; brothers Jack (Cindy) Eiene and Fred (Kallie) Eiene; sisters Mary Kay (Bill) Phelps and Melissa Eiene; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
You are invited to join family and friends for a Celebration of Life open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, in Berthusen Park by the big red barn.
