Sylvia Carol Baldwin, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Everett after a lengthy and valiant fight with cancer.
A graduate of Ferndale High School in 1972 and a 1977 graduate of Western Washington University, she worked as a systems administrator at Boeing in Everett for 35 years. She retired near the end of 2014. Sylvia was a longtime member of the congregations at Immanuel Bible Church in Bellingham and Alderwood Community Church in Lynnwood. A season ticket holder to several local theater groups, Sylvia traveled with friends to Leavenworth each summer for 10 years to attend summer stock theater. She sang in the Boeing choir and toured with them to France, England and Germany. Winning or losing, she loved her Seattle Mariners.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sigurd Baldwin (longtime teacher at Ferndale High), and her brother, David Baldwin (Annette).
She is survived by mother Edith Baldwin of Bothell; aunt Bess Dvorchek of Bellingham; brother Bruce (Connie) of Sun City, Arizona; brother Robert of Phoenix and sister-in-law Annette Baldwin of Seattle; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Inurnment will be in Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale, in an area where she will join other members of the extended Baldwin/James clan. We will join in a celebration of Sylvia’s life on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Immanuel Bible Church, 2000 W. North St., Bellingham, WA 98225.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift in Sylvia’s name to either Immanuel Bible Church or Alderwood Community Church, 3493 Alderwood Mall Blvd., Lynnwood, WA 98036.
