Peggy Lee (Ehler) Moseid was born Nov. 16, 1949, to William and Effie Ehler in Lakewood, Ohio. Just prior to her 4th birthday in 1953, the family moved to Seattle, where her father transferred to the Seattle branch of RCA Service Company. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1968.
On June 18, 1971, Peggy married the love of her life, Calvin S. Moseid, and moved to his home in Silverdale. Shortly after their marriage, she worked for the Marine Science Center in Poulsbo for a year and a half through the Educational Service District. Later Peggy went to work as a secretary with the Central Kitsap School District, first working at Central Kitsap High School and later transferring to Cottonwood Elementary where she was the secretary/office manager for 16 years.
In August 1993, after Cal’s retirement from teaching, they moved to Lynden, where Peggy worked for the Lynden Police Department for six years and later for the city Planning Department for six months.
Peggy loved Cal with all her heart and was thankful that he came into her life. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage together. She loved living in Lynden and enjoyed volunteering at the Lynden Chamber of Commerce, the Lynden Garden Club, Garden Street United Methodist Church, Lynden United Methodist Church, the Growing Together Community Garden and gleaning local farms with Small Potatos Gleaning Project. She enjoyed traveling with Cal and friends, gardening, homemaking and cooking.
Peggy passed away on Monday morning, Aug. 13, 2018 at the Christian Health Care Center. There will be a private memorial and burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lynden United Methodist Church, 500 14th St., Lynden, WA 98264.
