Norma Jean (Martindale) Williams was born on Jan. 19, 1932 and passed away on July 5, 2017. Jean went home to the Lord after her third battle with cancer. She graduated from Lusk High School in Lusk, Wyoming, in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gladys Martindale; her son-in-law Ken Mickelson; and her daughter-in-law Claire Williams.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Mel Williams; son Randy Williams; daughter Vickie Mickelson; sister Joan (Ed) Troy; grandson Ryan (Jessica) Williams; granddaughter Kimberly (Justin) Goldston; great-granddaughter Dillon Goldston; niece Shelli (Glen) Watson; and numerous other family members.
Jean was famous for her Sunday dinners and hospitality at church potlucks, also the hospitality she showed her children’s friends after school. She and Mel also opened their home to Young Life, having up to 100 teenagers there on club nights, with mom often making cookies for many of them.
Her family was everything to her and we will miss that sweet smile and great sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Whatcom Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
There will be a celebration of life for family at a later date.
