Miriam A. Crouse passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Miriam was born on May 29, 1927, in Pasadena, California, to parents Alvin and Myrtle (Snider) Lobb. Miriam graduated from high school at Pasadena City College, then went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Aurora College in Aurora, Illinois.
Miriam married Earl Crouse on Aug. 26, 1949, in Pasadena. She and Rev. Earl Crouse moved to the Sumas area and ministered at the Sumas Advent Christian Church for 44 years. Miriam taught Sunday school to the youngest children for 50 years. She loved being a stay-at-home mom surrounded by her children.
Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1996.
She is survived by her children Jim (Jan) Crouse, Rita (Tom) Tjoelker, Barb (Mark) Bauthues and Carl (Sally) Crouse; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Sumas Cemetery on Saturday, May 15, with a reception following at Sumas Advent Christian Church.
