Melvina Daws, age 85, of Ferndale, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. She was born in Fredonia, Kansas, in 1932 and moved to Ferndale in 1946, graduating from Ferndale High School in 1950 and marrying her high school sweetheart Bill Daws in 1952.
Throughout her life she loved her pets, boating, camping, and working in her flower garden. She was retired from Horizon Bank of Ferndale.
Melvina was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sister Imogene.
She is survived by her sons Greg Daws and Jeff Daws (Renate); grandson Matthew (Danielle); great-grand-son Dylan; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Greenacres Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 29, at noon.
Family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Washington, 1301 Fraser St., Suite A1, Bellingham, WA 98229.
