Mary Louise Braun, age 71, of Everson, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham with family at her side.
Mary was born May 25, 1947 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to parents Robert George and Flora Letitia (Hogg) Rough. Mary graduated from Lynden High School with the Class of 1966 and lived the rest of her life in Everson where she was very active. She was a longtime member of New Life Fellowship Church and enjoyed baking and making meals for others. Mary worked various jobs including being a candy striper, beautician, cannery worker, bookkeeper, baker and caterer, family dairy farm worker and most of all being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She also loved to travel with her best friend, Nancy King (Snag), to places like South Africa, Mexico, Costa Rica as well as taking numerous cruises. She greatly enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in various activities, as she showed her loving and outgoing personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Prudy.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Les; daughters Kris (Mike) Oliver and Margie (Troy) Ten Kley; stepdaughters Tricia (James) Machen and Yvonne; grandchildren Amber (Channing) Morrison, Andrew Oliver, Taryn and Jenna Ten Kley; great-grandchildren Kade, Lexi and Jace Morrison; brother George Rough (Gina); nephews Jon and Zack Rough; best friend Nancy King (Snag); and like-a-son Wally Bassett.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in New Life Fellowship Church, 810 E. Pole Rd., Lynden, with Pastor Doug Wooten officiating.
