It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Ryan after an all too short, yet courageous and graceful battle with cancer. She passed away on Dec. 9, 2015, at the age of 76.
Marlene was born in Vancouver, B.C., to Frank and Lillian Berry. As a young woman she met and married an American serviceman and moved to Seattle. She remained there until shortly after her retirement from the City of Seattle when she moved to Lynden. She loved living in Lynden.
Marlene will be remembered for her passion for the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, Neil Diamond and her dogs.
Thank you to Dee and the ladies at water aerobics, which she attended faithfully; to the staff at Safeway, her favorite store; to Kulshan Veterinary for their thoughtful care of Cleo and Sigi; and to her friends and neighbors.
A special thank you to Tiny for her friendship and for giving Sigi a loving home.
Marlene will be greatly missed by her daughter, Pam and son-in-law Greg; and her grandchildren Brittney (Dan) and Troy (Jewell).
