Marjorie Loveall

  Marjorie Kathleen Loveall, age 90, a 47-year resident of Colville WA, passed away on Dec. 23, 2020, in Spokane, surrounded by her family.
  Marjorie was born on Oct. 19, 1930, in Bellingham, a daughter of Ira Raymond Stauffer and Mabel Dorothy (Erickson) Stauffer. She was raised on the Lynden family farm and graduated from Lynden High School in 1948. She then attended and graduated from Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Oregon. She moved back to Lynden and put her education to work in the business office of the Lynden Department Store.
  This is where love came calling for Marjorie. It was in spring 1953 that her husband-to-be, Leslie Claude Loveall, heard about her and set out with a plan to meet her. He first saw her playing the piano at a church, where his sisters attended vacation Bible school. He initially just saw her from the back, as she played, but then she stood and he saw her for the first time. He was smitten. He got his nerve up and called her, asking her to meet him for coffee. She agreed and they met for the first time at a coffee shop in the bowling alley, across the street from the department store. A year later, Claude and Marjorie entered the greatest adventure of their life when they were married on April 23, 1954, in Lynden.
  Claude and Marjorie relocated to Portland in fall 1954. Claude was attending school at Multnomah, taking Bible courses, and also started to work for Risberg Trucking Co. as a truck driver and also in the warehouse. Marjorie was employed as a secretary at a funeral home in Portland. They had their first two children, Bruce and Kathy, while residing in Portland. Marjorie embraced her role as a mom and remained home to care for their children. In 1960 they returned to Lynden and worked the family dairy farm for nine years. Their family had grown to five children with the births of Timothy, Patricia and Kenneth. The family of seven made a move to the eastern side of the state, to Colville WA, in 1973, where they continued farming. This move proved to be challenging for her family, but Marjorie made use of what resources she had to care for them all. She had an amazing ability to stretch every dollar. She planted a large garden, raised about 30 chickens, canned, cooked, baked, sewed and gave an unending offering of love to her husband and children. She also made her own bread, butter and other foods from scratch.
  Marjorie showed her love for others by giving of her spare time to those in need in her church family and community. She would spend time at adult care facilities reading to those unable to do so any longer. She would also play the piano for them. She also loved opening up her home on Sundays to new community members, visiting missionaries and of course friends and family. She served as the church pianist and organist at both Nooksack Valley Baptist Church and Colville First Baptist for many years. She also coordinated special music that was offered weekly at the church, and she extended this ministry to special events, weddings and funerals.
  All of Marjorie’s children remember her reading to them and praying with them. She lived to serve her Lord, also loving and caring for her mother in her declining years. We have many family memories of annual camping trips to Canada, 40 years of Thanksgiving trips to Fairmont Hot Springs (Montana), Christmas puzzles, games and holiday meals. Mom gave us a lifetime of memories, but will be most remembered for her love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and how she trusted Him to guide her through this life. Her children offer these words in reflection of Marjorie: loyal, faithful, disciplined, hard worker, sensitive, giving, resourceful, good sense of humor, and an example of love.
  Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Mabel Stauffer, and her siblings, Alvin Stauffer and Virginia Bott.
  She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Claude Loveall of Colville; children Bruce Loveall (Julie) of Colville, Kathy Loveall of Liberty Lake WA, Timothy Loveall (Kim) of Otis Orchards WA, Tricia Nagano of Spokane and Kenneth Loveall (Sharon) of Aurora MN; grandchildren Brad, Andrea and Justin Finney, Zachary and Katelyn Loveall, Jasmine and Jared Nagano, Alyssa, Alayna, Conrad and Karl Loveall, Raquel, Marcus, Joel, Isaac, David and Willy Loveall; great-grandchildren Madison, Clarke and Beau Loveall, Aria, Calin and Liena Finney, and, born on Dec. 24, a new little great-granddaughter, Ezra Noelle Rodriguez. Marjorie is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
  Marjorie K. Loveall will be laid to rest at a family graveside service at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA. Pastor Dennis Wilkening will officiate.
