Lynette Brann

Lynette E. Brann, who was known for being very loving and kind with a bit of feistiness, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 99. Mrs. Brann was born in Whatcom County to Walter S. and Bertha P. (Waugaman) Allbaugh. She graduated from Meridian High School and Western before teaching at Glendale and Lynden.

She married Ellis A. Brann on Dec. 26, 1941, before he left to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps for four years. When he came home she quit teaching and followed him as he was transferred by Chevron to Anacortes, then to Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska, and eventually back to Bellingham. Her hobbies were crafts, music, reading and bowling.

Lynette had been a member of the Grange, Rebekahs, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, AAUW and the Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ellis, and four brothers Lynden, Larry, Louis and Walter.

She is survived by children Doreen (Ron) Adams and Douglas (Mary Beth) Brann; grandchildren Steven (Jennifer) Brann and Katherine Brann; great-grandchildren Isaac and Ila; sister Lyllian in California; and numerous other relatives.

Please join the family for a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, May 15, in Hope Lutheran Church, 900 E. Grover St., Lynden.
