Loren Duane Brockmiller, age 74, of Custer, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. He was the best husband, father, grandpa, and friend to many.
Loren was born on March 21, 1948 in Wenatchee to Herb Brockmiller and Wilma McAllister. He has two sisters, Karen Brockmiller and Kim Welch.
Loren was a proud member of Boy Scouts and the civil air patrol in his younger years. He received his GED and then went on to receive his Electrician Degree from Bulter County College.
Loren married Linda on Oct. 31, 1964 in Wenatchee Washington.
In 1972, he joined Mobil Refinery. In 1983, Loren moved from El Dorado, Kansas to Ferndale with Mobil refinery and 43 years later retired at Conoco Phillips.
Loren touched so many lives from coaching three teams of fast pitch softball for all three of his girls, to playing Santa Claus for many families and special events. He enjoyed helping with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, selling cookies and popcorn, to the camp cook for his grandkids in 4H and FFA during the fair.
Loren was extremely involved with the rec-committee from the refinery, to planning events and picnics with his friends. He was the first one to give a helping hand, and always put his wife Linda first.
Loren loved to play pranks on his refinery buddies and helped with the planning many parties and events. He enjoyed camping and being out on his pontoon boat fishing.
Family was everything to Loren and making you smile with his funny remarks. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Brockmiller of Custer; children Sherri Cavnar, Dawna (Larry) Prosser, Lisa (Rod) Schlosser, and Tammie (Joe) Bailey; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild.
Loren will be greatly missed by his uncle Wayne Watts, siblings Karen Brockmiller and Kim Welch, two nieces, one nephew, multiple cousins from around Washington, California, Oklahoma, and Kansas; and many friends from Washington, Oklahoma and Kansas; and his favorite pet Bandit.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents Wilma McAllister and Herb Brockmiller, and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of Loren’s life will be Saturday, March 18 from 1-4 p.m. at the Tillicum House Pioneer Park in Ferndale.
