Lloyd E. DeVries, age 76, of Ferndale, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, in Bellingham. He was born on Dec. 10, 1938, in Armour, South Dakota, to parents John E. and Lena (Meyer) DeVries, and moved to Washington at the age of 3.
Lloyd married his life-long sweetheart, Mary Ann Ten Kley, on April 17, 1957, in Lynden. He was a dairy farmer for over 40 years. Lloyd enjoyed his family, hunting and bowling and was an avid Seattle Mariners fan to the end. Lloyd loved spending time helping others.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Kellogg. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann; daughter Tammy LaPlante (Don); son Brian DeVries; grandchildren Donnie LaPlante (Merdith), Jeremy DeVries (Mikayla), Victor Kellogg, Cory LaPlante (Denise), Chris DeVries, Tiffany Kellogg, Lindsey DeVries, Stacy LaPlante and Tara Berwick (Shane); eight great-grandchildren; sister Betty Blair; and numerous other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at 2 p.m., in Victory Christian Fellowship Church, 205 South B.C. Ave., Lynden.
