The proposed modifications to Ferndale Municipal Code 18.08.190 “S” definitions would add a “Shipping Container” definition to the code section, describing what structures qualify as a Shipping Container. Proposed modifications to Ferndale Municipal Code 18.88 would change the title of the chapter to “Shipping Containers”, add language explicitly stating the presence of shipping containers are allowed within the Manufacturing, Light Industrial, and Public/Institutional zones, add a provision allowing for the existence of temporary shipping containers in Single Family Residential zones, and allow for the emergency use of shipping containers City wide.
