Larry E. Vail, 84, of Bellingham (formerly Lynden), surrounded by his family, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Bellingham. He was born in Sumas to parents Lyle and Violet Vail.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Frankie Vail; two sons, Steve and Clark Vail; and his sister, Dodie Kleindal.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Darlene; daughter Cathy and her husband Rick Aufrecht; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Tam (Paul) Insley, Pat Timboe and Gerry (Norm) Haveman; brother, Mike (Linda) Vail; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, in Ten Mile Cemetery of Lynden with Pastor David Jewett officiating, followed by an open house in the clubhouse at Cordata Park Place, corner of Tremont Avenue and Majestic Drive, Bellingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Children’s Summer Camp Scholarships, c/o Life Church Bayside, 747 Marine Dr., Bellingham, WA 98225.
