Kent Dennis Bunker, age 68, of Laurel, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on May 25, 2021.
Kent was born on Sept. 17, 1952, in Bellingham to Arthur and Gladys (McGillivray) Bunker. Kent was raised in the Laurel area and graduated from Meridian High School in 1971. During his time at Meridian, Kent met the love of his life, Linda Workentin, and they were married for 48 years. They were blessed with two sons Ryan and Matthew.
Kent spent 12 years working at Morse Hardware and then began a long career as a self-employed truck driver, most recently working for Perry Pallet Company. Kent had a love for meeting new people and truly enjoyed his conversations with everyone. All of those in Kent’s life can attest that his kind and laid-back personality was always enjoyable to be around. Kent’s recent passion for cooking and using his pellet smoker kept his family entertained and well fed. His truest passion in life was always his family.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents; three older brothers, Allan, Lee and Gene; and brother-in-law Leo Christoffer.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons Ryan (wife Kim and daughter Tanna), Matthew (Heather and sons Owen, Caden and Reid); older sisters Sharon (Steve) West, Kathy Christoffer; sisters-in-law Rita (Dan) Holland and Helen (Terry) Bode; brothers-in-law David (Sharon) Workentin and Larry Workentin; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Kent will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Greenacres Memorial Park of Ferndale, with a Celebration of Life open house to follow at Laurel Baptist Church. The family extends a warm welcome to all family and friends.
