Longtime Lynden Middle School teacher Ken Erickson, age 83, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the Christian Health Care Center.
Ken was born June 5, 1935, in Bremerton, Washington, to parents Donald and Elvera (Bosworth) Erickson. Ken met and later married Maribeth German on July 14, 1956, and together they had four children. Ken graduated from Western Washington State College and went on to teach Lynden Middle School science and driver’s education as well as coach. He served in the National Guard for 25 years, and enjoyed woodworking and shopping at Harbor Freight. He built his own home on Hampton Road and one for his folks in Tacoma.
Ken is survived by his children Bonnie Jo Pearson (Wayne) of Prosser, Charles “Eric” Erickson (Renae) of Lynden, Leif D. Erickson (Robin) of Colfax, and Donna M. Erickson of Nooksack; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Maribeth Erickson. You are invited to join family and friends for Ken’s graveside committal at 11:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery on Heady Road, Maple Falls, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, followed by the memorial service at 1 p.m. in North County Christ the King Church, Lynden.
