Kathleen Mae Utvich Pickel, age 55, passed away on Dec. 1, 2016.
She was born on July, 26, 1961, in Glendale, California, and grew up in Newhall, California, where she graduated from William S. Hart High School in 1979. She earned her arts degree from the College of the Canyons where she was president of the student council and Ski Club, and the Homecoming Queen. She married Ben Pickel in 1987 and had two wonderful sons, Andy and Alex. She worked for Disney Studios until moving to Washington in 1990, where she resided in Lynden. She worked as the call center supervisor for PeaceHealth Medical Group in Bellingham.
Kathy is survived by her husband Ben; sons Andy and Alex; mother Connie Orfanos; brothers Randy and John Utvich; nieces Jessica, Jordan, Morgan, Carlee and Camryn, and nephew Jake.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis L. Utvich.
Kathy was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend to so many and will be greatly missed. Her kindness, smile and laughter will be missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
A memorial service in honor of Kathy was held on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 in North County Christ the King Community Church, Lynden.
