Josephine “Jo” Pike, age 87, of Everson, passed away early on Saturday morning, Sept. 26, 2015. She was born in Balfour, Washington, on Nov. 19, 1927, to Edwin and Eva (Theisen) Rogers.
Jo was a 1944 graduate of Mount Baker High School. Shortly after graduation she met her future husband, Ted Pike, and they were married on Dec. 7, 1946. Together they raised their family and dairy farmed on South Pass Road in Everson.
Jo and Ted enjoyed attending dances together and attended family members’ many sporting events. Her family was her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden for many years. She loved flowers and watching the gameshows “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy.” Jo will be remembered for her very kind spirit and her no-bake chocolate oatmeal and chocolate-chip cookies.
Jo is survived by her five children: Lin (Terry) Johnson, Gary (Xiao Rong) Pike, Nancy (Denny) Wagner, Barb (Mark) Heutink and Sue (Dave) Robinson; brother Eddie Rogers; sisters Nadine (Stan) Loreen and Allene (Gary) Davis; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Ted; and sister Mary Ann Windon.
A graveside service for Jo will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Nooksack Cemetery at 1 p.m.
