John H. Tanguy was born April 27, 1940 in Bellingham to Walter and Priscilla Tanguy. He passed away on July 21, 2017 at the age of 77 in Mill Creek, Washington, where he had lived for 30 years.
John graduated from Ferndale High School in 1958 and then received a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University. He was an Alaska state trooper and then was in security at Kuparuk and Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, retiring after 34 years.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy; and his parents.
He married Diane Wood in 1982 and is survived by her; his son, John “Cole” Tanguy and three other sons, Scot, Steve and Craig; and two sisters, Jennifer Lucas of Ferndale and Jean Bunch of Arizona.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, in Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd., Lynnwood.
