Janet Adele Long Smith went home to the Lord on April 4, 2019, two days before her 72nd birthday.
Janet was born in Bellingham on April 6, 1947, to Pete (Clarence) and Clara Long. She spent all of her growing-up years on the Aldergrove Road of Ferndale and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1966. The loves of her life were her precious family members. She also was an accomplished quilter, which gave her great joy.
She was predeceased by her father and mother and an infant sister, Carol Ann.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jim; six children, Jackie (Rene) Nitsche, Kim (Bill) Bottles, Sindy (Tyler) Ross, Tina (Nate) Tracy, DJ (Katherine) Solarek and Martin (Stephanie) Solarek. Janet had 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were very special to her. She is also survived by sisters Judi (Dave) Hardan and Jacquee (John) Larsen.
Funeral services were held in the Ocala West United Methodist Church in Ocala, Florida, on April 8, 2019.
