Janel Mae Bernardy (Kvistad), age 65, took her first breath in Heaven on Nov. 28, 2017 after a long battle with COPD.
Janel was born to Robert and Charlotte Kvistad on March 10, 1952 in Bellingham. She was a graduate of Meridian High School and later worked as a school bus driver for the Meridian district. In her free time, Janel loved gardening, going to Bible study, and attending her grandkids’ sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lowie Larsen.
Janel is survived by her son, Ty (Jamie) Harrison; her daughters, Taryn Hallberg and Emma (Kyle) van der Velde; and her eight grand-babies Ally, Tanis, Sophie, Cooper, Tucker, Bakker, Rustin and Judah. Janel was a loving mother, gram and friend to many. We will miss her laugh, her hugs and her tender heart.
A private service will be held to lay her to rest at Greenacres Memorial Park.
