James A. Miller (Jim) passed away on March 31, 2018. He was born on July 30, 1931 in Canadian, Texas, to Ruby B. and Alvin James Miller.
Jim raised his family just outside Houston. He later moved to Custer, WA in 1970, taking a job as a supervisor in the coker unit at ARCO just after the Ferndale refinery was built. He worked in the petroleum industry for 30 years.
Jim is survived by his children and their spouses: Keith Brooks and Rochelle Miller, Richard A. Weatherby, Kimbra E. Miller and Chris I. Calverley, and Sharon L. Weatherby. His grandchildren are: James P. Miller, John M. Swartos, Holly L. Swartos, Robin D. Aldridge, Corynne L. Miller and Lindsey M. Salvaggio. Jim’s siblings are: Gene Miller, Joyce Mathis and Audrey Cockrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara F. Miller; son Gregory D. Miller; and daughter Linda F. Swartos.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, in Enterprise Cemetery of Ferndale.
