James Blizard passed away on Jan. 18, 2019, following a long battle with heart disease.
After growing up in western Washington, Jim graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1985. Jim joined the U.S. Air Force, where he learned computer programming. When Jim left the Air Force, he worked in the technology field in the Seattle and Atlanta areas. He recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family. Jim was a history buff and enjoyed traveling to historic sites. He was an avid Seattle Seahawks and Georgia Tech fan.
He leaves behind his daughter Elizabeth Blizard of Conyers, Georgia; sisters Carolyn Jarvill of Juneau, Alaska, and Kathy Blizard of Prineville, Oregon; brothers Bruce Blizard of Benton City, Washington, and Dan Blizard of Marysville; brother-in-law Gary Jarvill; sisters-in-law Tina Blizard and Autumn Blizard; and numerous nieces and nephews. His family will always miss his sharp wit, subtle sense of humor and pragmatic approach to life.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Juanda and Bill Blizard, and grandparents, Berenice and Carl Allen.
Services will be held in Nooksack Cemetery on Breckenridge Road at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. Afterward, a gathering of family and friends will celebrate Jim’s life at the Glen Echo Community Center, 7694 Goodwin Rd. east of Everson.
