Jake Henry Cowen passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 21, 2019.
Born on March 21, 2005, Jake was an amazing son, brother, friend, uncle and student. He was 14 years old and a freshman at Lynden High School. He was beyond a blessing, always wanting to help anyone who needed it. Jake loved his video games and hanging out with his older cousins, who also loved to play. He also really loved being with Pastor Brian and helping him with anything and everything and also just hanging out with that family. His loss was so sudden and unexpected and he will be greatly missed.
Jake was preceded in death by his father, Kurt Cowen, and was still processing that trauma. He is survived by his mother, Renee; brothers Ty, Kyle and Kenneth; his grandparents, Jerry and Nancy Bennett; auntie Shelley Bennett, uncle Rex and Julie Bennett; and lifelong best friends Carla Desoto and family.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in Grace Baptist Fellowship, 338 North Park St., Lynden.
