Jack C. Mooney, age 81, passed away at his home in Lynden on Jan. 30, 2016. He was born on Nov. 25, 1934, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Virginia Haffield and John Mooney. He graduated from Meridian High School and on Oct. 31, 1961, he married Lorraine Gross.
Jack loved spending time with his family camping and fishing, watching and feeding animals and helping anybody who needed a hand. He was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. Jack was a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War as a radio man.
He was preceded in death by father John Mooney; mother Virginia Johnson; step-father George; son Robert Mooney; mother-in-law and father-in-law Loyd and Marie Gross; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wally and Geraldine Heutink.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine; daughters Cheryl (Roger) Yoakum and LeAnn (Art) DeBoer; granddaughter Abigail DeBoer; aunt Jean Gilbert; and all his in-laws that were his family too.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or another favorite charity.
