Henry (Chip) Walker Mines III, 65, passed away at his home in Lynden on Jan. 26.
Born in Seattle on April 8, 1957, Henry was the son of the late Jeanne Grace Anderson and Henry W Mines II.
While still young, his family moved to Arlington. Henry was part of the accapella group in high school and sang at the Assembly of God.
Upon graduating, Henry worked for the local lumberyard, Chevron, Bates Abrasives, and over the years, several car dealerships, including Dewey Griffin of Bellingham (Thank you Dewey Griffin).
Henry was known for his sense of humor and his friendliness, and his love for fishing, woodworking and photography.
Henry leaves behind two children and two grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Mines of Lake Havasu City, AZ (and her fiancé Mitchell Wilson) and her son Weston Ray Gallegos; and Adam Walker Mines (and his wife Alysha) of Sedro Woolley, WA and their son Maverick Ronald Mines; a sister Pam Benthin of Everett, and brother Gary (and wife, Monica) Schlagel of Arlington and three half-sisters: Karen, Abbey and Libby.
Henry was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Schlagel.
Funeral arrangements were taken care of by Whatcom Cremation & Funeral Services.
