Hank DeRaad peacefully went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 21, 2017. He was born Dec. 23, 1927 in the Netherlands. He taught at Lynden Christian School for many years where he was well known for throwing chalk.
Hank was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, and son-in-law Wim VanWinkoop.
He is survived by son Clarence DeRaad and daughters Evelyn (Peter) Driegen, Diane Dalhuisen, Elenor (Tony) Bikker, Anita VanWinkoop and Pam (Norm) Stacey. He will also be missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Canadian Reformed Church of Abbotsford, 33947 King Rd., Abbotsford, British Columbia.
