Glenn Stacey

Nooksack resident Glenn Stacey passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 81.

Glenn was born on Sept. 7, 1935 in Rector, Arkansas, to Clarence and Allene (Lewis) Stacey. He was one of nine children. In 1951 the family moved to the Nooksack area and in 1954 he graduated from Nooksack Valley High School. After high school Glenn began his working career with Great Western Lumber Co., then Bill Edwards Texaco and Snow Ford as a mechanic. He started his driving career with the Cow Milkers Association, proceeding to LTI and Milky Way hauling freight to Alaska and picking up milk in Washington. Glenn was very proud to be part of the LTI family for 40 years.

Glenn married Carroll Clark on Feb. 11, 1978 and together they had seven sons. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, crabbing and watching high school sports. He was known for being hard-working and his volunteering at the Nooksack Valley Food Bank. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, cutting firewood and having coffee with friends and family.

Glenn was preceded in death by sisters Hazel Owens, Virginia Van Kleek and Frieda Schindler; and brothers Robert and Junior.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carroll; sons Douglas, Richard, Norman (Pam), Donald (Kristin), Robin, Aaron and Michael (Teresa); 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his brothers Jimmy (Myumi) and Lyndel (Shirley), sister Bonnie (Dale) Englert, sister-in-law Darlene Stacey; and numerous extended family and friends.
