George Wemp, of Lynden, passed away on Oct. 20, 2016. He was born on March 31, 1921 in Edmonton, Alberta, to Clarence and Charlotte (Minardus) Wemp. He married the love of his life, Mae Irene Anderson, on Oct. 7, 1944 and they spent 72 years together before she passed away on Oct. 5, 2016.
Survivors include their three sons, Don (Sherry) Wemp, Ken (Bonnie) Wemp, and Craig (Deanna) Wemp; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Bob (Barbara) Anderson; sister-in-law Emma Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Mae, and brother Miles Wemp.
A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Moles Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Dr., Ferndale, followed by a reception.
