Elaine Pekema peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Bellingham at age 85. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; sons Michael and Clifford; and grandson John.
Elaine grew up on Lopez Island, later moving to Ferndale and graduating from Ferndale High School. She and her husband Andy raised their children on their family farm near Ferndale while both working full-time. Elaine worked for the Whatcom Credit Bureau for many years, but her favorite job was being a proud grandma.
Elaine is survived by her grandchildren Rob Dobbs, Devin Pekema, and Miles Pekema; and great-grandchildren Derek Dobbs and Cody Dobbs.
A visitation time will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 13, in Moles Farewell Tributes, 2039 Main St., Ferndale, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will commence at 12:30 p.m. in Enterprise Cemetery following the service.
