Donald Gary Weeda (Don) peacefully passed May 3, 2023, in Richland, WA with his family by his side. Don was born and raised in Lynden to Gerrit and Gladys (DenAdel) Weeda. He is remembered for his kind and honest nature, his love of boating, travel and spending time in his yard. As a part of his lifelong deeply held faith, he attended Faith Baptist Church in Kent and Grace Baptist Fellowship in Lynden for many years.
His long work career was dedicated to Boeing as a draftsman and he saw the progression of aircraft drafting with pencil and graph paper to modern and sophisticated computer aided design.
Don is survived by his wife Brenda Weeda; sons Ryan (Stephanie), Scott (Amanda); and grandchildren Max, Sam, Grace, Hope, Ashton, Gage and Kaia.
Many memories include boating in the San Juan Islands with salmon and cod fishing, family vacations to Hawaii, Disneyland, the World’s Fair in Vancouver, B.C., Europe and one mission trip to Spain with friends and church members.
The family is indebted to Callaway Gardens Memory Center in Richland, WA for their kind and gentle care and also Heart Link Hospice in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Bonnie Blanket Ministry at Grace Baptist Fellowship in Lynden.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Friday, June 23 at 1:30 at Grace Baptist Fellowship, 338 N. Park St., Lynden.
