Bonnie Jean (Theel) Williams went to see the Lord on the evening of Sept. 29, 2018, at the age of 93. The middle of three children, she was born on July 14, 1925 to John Carl and Daisy Francis (Leake) Theel.
Bonnie grew up in Lynden. On July 2, 1943, Bonnie married the love of her life, Dan R. Williams. After the war, Bonnie and Dan relocated to northern Whatcom County. Here they farmed berries on 60 acres for nearly 50 years at the end of the Hammer Road north of Lynden on the border with B.C. Many people still recall the happy times they had working for and knowing the Williams family. They raised strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
Bonnie and Dan had four children: Dian (Randy) Lindsey, Danny (Ellen), Mark (Leasa) and Michael (Susan). Mom was our guide in seeing things in a better light. Mom is in the light now, in the place of the most high.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan, in 1979; also her son, Danny, and one grandson, John; and her oldest brother, Buford.
She is survived by her daughter Dian of East Wenatchee; sons Mark of Parkman, Wyoming, and Mike of East Wenatchee; also her youngest brother, Robin (Carol) Whipple of Lynden; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The family extends much thanks to all at RiverWest for making such a comfortable home, for the many kindnesses, loving care and time; and also gratitude for the care the hospice ladies gave our mom. We are fortunate to have gotten to meet you too.
A family gathering will be held in Mike and Susan Williams’ home, 308 N. Iowa Ave., East Wenatchee, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. A Celebration of Life will be held at Greenacres in the spring of 2019.
Arrangements are assisted by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee.
