Bonnie Lawrence, age 71, a lifelong resident of Whatcom County, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones.
Bonnie was born on June 18, 1944, to Earl and Pearl Hickey. She graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1962 and married Oscar Rauch in 1964. Throughout her life, Bonnie was a loyal daughter and sister, a devoted mother of four and a committed Christian. For many years, Bonnie worked as an office assistant. She raised her children on her own and at age 54 married Reverend John Lawrence.
Bonnie liked to help people and did so whenever she was able. She often gave her time, energy and talents to make life better for others. Her relationships with people made her very happy.
At retirement she became an active part of the Ferndale and Bellingham senior centers, Hamilton Place Senior Living and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bonnie is survived by her four children: Marvin Rauch, Charlene Paz, Deanna Leslie and husband Charles and Elizabeth Garrett and husband Bill; and 12 grandchildren, who all live in Whatcom County.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; and daughter Saundra Rauch.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, in Trinity Lutheran Church of Bellingham with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Trinity Benevolent Fund, 119 Texas St., Bellingham, WA 98225.
