Beverly Helen Vander Yacht, known to all as Bobbie, passed away at Stafholt Skilled Nursing Center in Blaine on Nov. 17, 2017 after a short illness.
She was born in Lewistown, Montana, on Sept. 2, 1928 and moved to Whatcom County in 1957. Bobbie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a longtime friend and attendee at United Church of Ferndale. She enjoyed her many years of volunteering at the Ferndale Food Bank, sewing around quilts for Zion, ushering and helping with church meals at the United Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and John Tobin; her husband, Carl; and infant granddaughter Katherine. She is survived by her children Roy (Gail), Susan (Tom), Dallas (Fred), Barry and David (Frances); her stepdaughter Carla; and former daughter-in-law Joyce. Bobbie loved her 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Pastor Bobbi Virta and the United Church of Ferndale for their love and friendship to our mom. We would also like to thank all the wonderful nurses and staff at Stafholt for their loving care at the end of her life. There will be a private graveside memorial in the spring.
