Anna Lou Parker of Ferndale passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. She was born in 1933 in Bellingham to Ralph and Oma Little. In 1955, she married John Parker and they raised five children in Bellingham before moving to Ferndale in 1989.
Anna worked for many years for the Bellingham School District in the Food Service Department at various schools. She was the cafeteria manager at Sehome High School for many years and retired as the cafeteria manager at Bellingham High School.
After retiring, Anna filled her time volunteering many hours at the Ferndale Senior Center, the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association and babysitting her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and cooking. Everyone will miss her wonderful holiday meals and especially the Christmas candy she so generously shared with everyone.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson Andrew; and sister Lucella.
She is survived by her children: Linda of Fairbanks, Alaska, Susan, Dave and Jayne of Bellingham; and Doug of Sedro-Woolley. She had seven grandchildren: Shaun, Shara, Jonathan, Natali, Jason, Sophia and Graeme, and one great-grandchild, Gideon. She is also survived by three sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Bellingham Cruise Terminal.
