Grace Faber, 84, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born to Herman and Grace Heusinkveld on July 3, 1933 in Lynden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Faber. Grace married Stan on Dec. 30, 1954 in Lynden. They started farming in 1954 near Allen in Skagit County, moved to Conway in 1959 and then moved to Arlington in 1964 and continued farming there until 2000. In 1982 Grace and Stan were honored by the Washington State Dairy Federation as State Dairy Family of the Year. Grace was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church of Mount Vernon. She also served as a member of the Ladies Aid at the church. She loved working on puzzles and playing Mexican Train with her friends at the Heather Village Retirement Community. In her later years, Grace volunteered sorting jewelry at Bargains Galore Thrift Store.
She is survived by her four sons: Loren, Kevin (preceded in death by his wife Donna), Larry (Teri) and Randall (Julia); three grandsons, one granddaughter and two great-grandsons; also her two brothers, Hank and Herm Heusinkveld, and two sisters, Trudy Homkes and Eleanor Lamsma.
Her parents and a sister preceded her in death.
Gravesite burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, in Hawthorne Memorial Park, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in First Christian Reformed Church, 701 W. Blackburn Rd., Mount Vernon, WA 98273, with a reception following in the church annex.
