Shirley was born in Lynden, on April 6, 1939, to Henry and Della (Stadt) Bennett. She graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1957. Shirley then met the love of her life, Carl Lambert.

One of her greatest passions was supporting them at all of their sporting events. In recent years she enjoyed watching her grandkids’ team, Carl’s Crew, participate in the Carl Lambert Memorial Softball Tournament. She enjoyed watching her family grow with the addition of her great-grandkids.
