Ronald Maurice DeMuynck was born to Maurice and Mildred DeMuynck in Moline, Illinois, on July 8, 1934, and passed away with his family by his side on Aug. 18, 2016, at the young age of 82.
After World War II, his parents decided to move to the Pacific Northwest and bought a dairy farm in South Prairie, Washington, when Ron was 11. Graduating from Washington State University with a dairy science degree, he was a founding member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. He then married Carolyn Anderson from Puyallup, Washington, before being deployed to the Korean War. Upon his return they moved to Walla Walla, Washington, then on to buy a small hobby farm in Arlington, Washington, while doing artificial insemination for Carnation Genetics. After leaving Carnation, he started his own company, North West WA Feed Service. After 35 years, he retired officially in 2014. He enjoyed reading westerns and the Sunday comics, watching John Wayne movies and listening to Paul Harvey. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing and working on puzzles and Sudoku.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn; sister Donna (Keith) Cox; son Douglas (Jacquie) DeMuynck; daughters Cathy (Len) Gitchel and Lorraine (Bill) Karman; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
