Screen Shot 2016-08-24 at 11.45.04 AM  Sharon Louise Reimers passed into her faithful Savior’s arms on Saturday, Aug. 20, after a year-long illness.
Sharon was born on Nov. 8, 1946, in San Jose, California, the third of 11 children to Pastor Douglas L. and Frances E. Neff (nee Barton). She graduated from Blackford High School in 1965 and attended Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, before returning home and meeting her future husband, Paul C. Reimers. Sharon and Paul were married on Aug. 18, 1972, and had seven children and nearly 15 years of happy marriage before Paul passed away on June 11, 1987. Sharon moved from San Jose to the Lynden area in 1988 and became an active member of Covenant Grace Reformed Church. She took special joy in singing regularly with the Lynden Choral Society and watching her family grow with each new grandchild — 22 and counting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and her sister Marilyn Bushey.
She is survived by her mother; brothers Stanley, David, Robert, Stephen, Jonathan and Daniel Neff; sisters Janis Beck, Linda Vaughn, and Michele Neff; children Rachel (Joel) Robbins, Sarah (Ben) Miller, Benjamin (Casie) Reimers, Nathan (Megan) Reimers, Anna (Thomas) Harmon, Mark (Lindsay) Reimers and Rebekah (Michael) Fordon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, in Faith Community Church of Lynden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic.
