Kyran P. “Phil” Kane, age 82, of Everson, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, in Bellingham with his wife at his side. Phil was born on Aug. 22, 1933, to Kyran Francis and Rose Terigard Kane in Muskegon, Michigan. He was a resident of Whatcom County for over 43 years.
Phil married the love of his life, Linda L. Graham, in Kodiak, Alaska. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of services, from the North Pole to Alaska to the Oregon Coast. He was an electrician in Sumas and worked for ARCO Cherry Point Refinery in the INE Shop and most recently owned, operated and installed Central Vacuum Systems.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Kane, who also was in the U.S. Coast Guard; daughter Ann Marie Kane; and sisters Margaret Mary Matties, Rosemary Kane and Maryanne Hansen.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda L. Kane; sister Eckterine Hanslits and husband Joseph; brother Edward Kane and wife Darlene; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A service will be held in Muskegon, Michigan, in June.
