Patricia Baker of Camano Island passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2015, at Whatcom Hospice House. She was 57 years old.
Patricia was born to John and Audrey Van Weerdhuizen of Lynden.
She is survived by her husband, Marty; her children, Stewart, Natalie and Trevor; grandchildren Tristen, Travis, Elyshah, Owen, Miah, Marshall and Isaiah; her mother; sister Vicki; and brother Michael.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; and brother Jeff.
Patricia always had a passion for playing piano in her church, hiking and traveling to places such as Maui to expand her love for beaches. If you were to visit her residence on Camano Island, she would delight in taking you on a tour of her Christmas light-strewn paths, which she hand-hewed herself. If she wasn’t at home, you’d likely find her at a local Camano Island beach or Birch Bay. She also shared a love for jigsaw puzzles and frequenting garage sales with her best friend, her mother, and taking her grandchildren on road trips.
Following a private graveside service, a public memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Bible Baptist Church, 8313 Park Dr., Stanwood, WA 98292. Memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church.
You are invited to share your condolences and memories in the online guestbook at www.gilliesfuneralhome.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Lynden.
