Maureen Plotts

At St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery in Shoreline, on Aug. 14 at 3:30 p.m., Sister Maureen of Merciful Love, OCD (Maureen D. Plotts) peacefully slipped into eternity. Sister was surrounded by her devoted Carmelite community and her beloved family. Sister was 43 years of age. Sister spent most of her growing up years in Lynden. She loved the beauty of nature and all that the outdoors encompassed-flowers, trees, four-footed creatures, and birds-all spoke to her of the grandeur of God. She is survived by her 11-member Carmelite community; her parents: Gordon and Diane Plotts; her brothers: Cory (Ana Grace) and Joseph (Bianca), her sister: Theresa Munn (Eric), and their spouses; her four nieces: Mary Ana, Grace Marie, Maria Jose; and one nephew: Joseph Lewis Plotts.
