Dianne Kay (DeWaard) Dykman of Gig Harbor died Aug. 24. She was 76.
Dianne was born in Bellingham to Jacob and Margaret DeWaard. After graduating from Lynden Christian, Dianne moved to Grand Rapids, MI where she graduated as a registered nurse from Blodgett Memorial Hospital.
Returning to Washington, Dianne married Bernie Dykman and began her nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. They welcomed daughter Jacqueline.
In 1972, the family moved to Lakewood where she continued her career at Lakewood General Hospital and soon welcomed Todd.
While in Tacoma, the family attended Tacoma CRC church and Dianne continued her career at Tacoma General Hospital (MultiCare) from 1985 until her retirement in 2008.
In 1989, the family moved to Gig Harbor where they attended Chapel Hill Church. Dianne survived by her husband Bernie; Jaci (Chris) Washam, Tony Smithin, Jessica (Cody) Oller, Cindy Washam; and Todd (Shannon) Dykman, Kendal and Riley.
